We'll soon be announcing a contest for a script that highlights the jeopardy that our Constitution faces. Not only will there be prizes, but we'll turn the winning script into a video.
What happened to this site?
Almost immediately after launch, I was given an opportunity that I couldn't refuse. Love The Constitution is closer to my heart, but the other opportunity is a much safer financial path. If life proceeds perfectly, maybe I'll be able to afford to hire people to do this site justice in the future. By that time Bush will be out of office and the reasons for this site may diminish.
In the mean time, if anyone out there with the skills and passion to carry the torch comes forward, I'd be thrilled to hand over the reins. If you're interested, please send a message by using the Contact Us link above.
The Constitution Before The Flag

Bush and Cheney have trampled on the Constitution's system of checks and balances, crushed our civil liberties and embraced corruption as the natural order of government. At the same time, they've stifled dissent while parading the flag. That's the final insult - glorifying a symbol in the cause of marginalizing the Constitution. They have debased the Flag by using it to promote a fake patriotism. It's time to restore the flag's image and remind the world that the flag symbolizes principles established by that most magnificent of documents, the U.S. Constitution.

We're almost ready to launch!
Love The Constitution will officially launch on October 24th in recognition of United Nations Day. If you've made it this far, then you probably should have a good idea of our point of view. That point of view will be used to promote wholesome liberal values through education and action.
One of the site features will be this blog. Regularly we will comment about current events from a moderate liberal point of view. The big issues now are the countless screw-ups and threats to our lives and liberty posed by the Bush administration. Thankfully, we only have to endure less than a couple of more years of this pain, but that's two more years of lives and liberty lost. Bush may disappear, but the threats will not. Unfortunately, there will be plenty of grist for our mill long after he's gone. Some of that grist, such as the distortions of the radical right including Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly will also be a regular feature of this blog.
Opinion and News
The site will have opinion and news from several sources, links to other information and opinion resources, links to help our readers influence their elected representatives, aids for getting involved, suggested reading, merchandise to express your frustration, fund raising resources for organizations and politicians, and tools for people to promote our message while making money at the same time. We'll also be inviting our readers to participate. They can always comment on content, suggest direction for LoveTheConstitution.com and participate in regular polls.
The site launch will be accompanied by posting a cartoon to YouTube. The video won't just underscore the Bush gang's lack of Constitutional love, it will spotlight the utter disregard the Bush gang has shown to the principles established by the Constitution.
Supported by Advertising
The site will be supported by advertising (feel free to click those links, but only if they truly interest you) and merchandise revenue. You can already get lapel pins, t-shirts, bags, mugs, bumper stickers and lawn signs. However, we're most excited by the flags that will be available. It will be similar to an American flag with a Love The Constitution heart in the middle. This is a chance to bring the flag back into the mainstream of American pride. A portion of all profits will be donated to liberal causes.
